    Important information notice from Schengen Member States

    According to Article 12 (a) of the Regulation (EC) No. 810/2009, commonly known as “Visa Code”, the validity of a travel document shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Schengen Member States.

    According to an official notification from the Kenyan authorities issued to all diplomatic missions, all Kenyan passports – except the new East African Community biometric e-Passport – will be rendered invalid from 1 September 2019.

    The Schengen Member States therefore wish to inform the Kenyan public that from 1 June 2019 ONLY the new East African Community biometric e-Passport can be accepted for Schengen visa applications.

    Dear Applicants,

    Please note that the Embassy will be closed on 03 April 2019 and 04 April 2019, Consequently VFS will not receive any applications on 02 April 2019 and 03 April 2019. The VFS will resume normal operations on 04 April 2019.

    Also note that the Embassy´s Migration Section is closed on 08 April 2019 and 09 April 2019, subsequently VFS will not receive any applications on 05 April 2019 and 08 April 2019. The VFS will resume normal operations on 09 April 2019.

    Group Applications

    For group applications, applicants are advised to make prior bookings at the Sweden Visa Application Centre. Group applications will only be accepted between 08:00 to 10:00.

    You are also requested to ensure that you visit the Application Centre prior to the visa application date to confirm readiness.

    Collection of Visa Decision envelopes from the Visa Application Centre – Embassy of Sweden

    In order to collect Visa Decisions which have arrived at the VFS Sweden Visa Application Center from the Embassy of Sweden, please bring your receipt with you. For the security of your visa decision envelope, all applicants will be required to pick up their own visa decision envelopes in person from the Visa Application Centre.

    If you will not be available to pick up the visa decision envelope personally upon notification that your decision is ready for collection, the courier option will be availed to you. Please speak to the Visa Officers at the Application Counter for the procedure to sign up for this service which will be done on the visa application date.

    M-PESA payment service commencing 1 July 2016 – VFS SERVICE FEES

    VFS (KENYA) LTD. is proud to introduce M-Pesa, the online mobile fee payment service for applicants.
    M-Pesa is a globally recognised mode of payment and convenient to all.

    Effective 20 June 2016, the Swedish Visa Application Centre will commence the use of M-Pesa services to run concurrently with cash services for a period of 9 days till 30 June 2016 for payment of service fees and any other Value Added Service fees applicable.

    As of 01 July 2016, fee payments will shift entirely to M-Pesa. Applicants will be required to load their service fees onto M-Pesa beforehand (upon confirmation of how much one is required to pay) and upon completion of document checks, the transfer will be made.

    Note that the Swedish Visa application fees will continue to be remitted to the bank and the deposit slip will be issued to the staff upon the remittance of the visa application forms.
