This website provides details related to your application submission and collection process along with other useful information you need to know.

Step 2 Before you decide to apply for a visa please make sure you familiarize yourself with the information on the visa subclass you are applying for. Quick links to information on visa categories and Long Term Schengen Visas helpful information including Visa Fee, VFS Service Charge and Processing Time can be found on the Visa Wizard page on this website.

Step 3 Applicants should fill the Download Forms corresponding to the visa subclass under which they wish to lodge their application. Applicants can get the Download Forms by visiting the nearest Sweden Visa Application Centre or by downloading the forms from Applications and Forms.

  • Temporary operation hours of Sweden Visa Application Centres in Shanghai Jurisdiction

    In light of the current Coronavirus alert, please note that from 24 April 2020 Sweden Visa Application Centres located at Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing will provide visa application and passport passback every Tuesday and Thursday, from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs (Hangzhou from 10:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs). Please kindly wear a face mask when entering the Visa Application Centre. Thank you for your kind understanding.

  • Information for Applicants planning to visit Visa Application Centre in Jinan

    Starting 30 March 2020, Jinan Sweden Visa Application Centre will be relocated at 8F, Qianfoshan Building (Foreign Visa Centre Jinan), No.15-1 Wenhua West Road, Lixia District, Jinan, Shandong, China. The previous address will no longer be valid.

  • Temporary ban on travel to Sweden due to COVID-19

    In response to the European Council’s and the European Commission’s call for travel restrictions, the Government decided on 17 March 2020 to temporarily stop non-essential travel to Sweden so as to mitigate the effects of the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and reduce the spread of the disease.

    The decision takes effect on 19 March 2020 and will initially apply for 30 days. This is an exceptional measure that will not apply for longer than necessary. Please refer to below links for more information.

  • Information for Applicants planning to visit Visa Application Centre in Nanjing

    In light of the current situation around Coronavirus, the Visa Application Centre in Nanjing will be open from 09 March 2020 from 09:00 Hrs to 12:00 Hrs (Monday to Friday). Considering safety of staffs and applicants and regulations being put in by local authorities, applicants are requested to make prior appointment at least one day prior to visiting the premise. Please write to to obtain an appointment.

  • Gentle reminder:

    The Visa Application Centre buildings management will follow local authorities' special regulations on whether applicants from other cities can be allowed to enter the building. Please contact the respective Visa Application Centre through helpline or email in advance to know more about local regluations, in order to avoid any inconvenience caused during your application submission. Thank you for your co-operation."

  • Increased fees for visa applications

    Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent.

  • Sweden Visa Application Centres are only responsible for processing of applications and play no part in the decision making process of visa applications
  • Changes in the visa application submission process from 12 October 2015- biometric data

    Applicants wishing to apply for a visa at the Sweden Visa Application Centre must visit in person to provide their biometric data (fingerprint/photo)as per the VIS rules. In case it is a child under the age of 12 or if it is physically impossible, she/he needs not to provide biometric data but still needs to come for submission in person. Read detail here.
