    IMPORTANT NOTICE: Visa applications at the Embassy of Sweden in Pretoria

    As from 18 March 2020 it will only be possible to apply for a Schengen Visa at VFS visa centers – not at the Embassy of Sweden in Pretoria, South Africa.

    In connection with the Amendment to the Visa Code the Embassy of Sweden in Pretoria, South Africa, will not accept Schengen Visa applications at the Embassy. Visa applications can only submitted through the VFS Visa Centers in Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town (South Africa).

    Exception shall however be made, according to the Directive of Free Movement, for family members of EU/EEA citizens who are advised to book an appointment by sending an mail to ambassaden.pretoria-visum@gov.se.

    Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent

    Information to applicants participating in international sports event like Gothia Cup 2019.

    Gothia Cup, sports tournament for youths are held in Sweden in July 2019. The Embassy appreciates if applications for visas for participants are handed in well in advance and at least 15 days before the travel date.

    Note that all children under the age of 18 must submit an unabridged birth certificate (verified by Commissioner of Oath), ID/ passport (copy) of the guardians (verified by Commissioner of Oath) and a letter of consent for travelling from the guardians of the child (verified by Commissioner of Oath). Application forms must be signed by at least one legal guardian.

    Participants under age 25 in the above-mentioned events will be exempted from the visa application fee with reference to article 16 of the Visa Code. You will however need to pay the service fee to the Visa Application Centre.
